I do my best to portray a strong sense of professionalism while remaining approachable. In order to create an environment that is conducive to learning, it is important to both establish a healthy student-teacher relationship and make the student feel comfortable. While obtaining my MA in psychology at Northern Arizona University, I found that I also learned most quickly when I was given the opportunity to actively participate in the class. For this reason, unless it is completely necessary, I try not to just lecture at my students without giving them a chance to talk. I also think that the classroom atmosphere should allow for easy communication and diligent productivity. As a tutor, I have always taught my students to see the classroom as a place to get work done, and also a place where they can have a say in their learning experience. I have had many chances to test the effectiveness of my teaching philosophy. In terms of experience, I have taught courses at the college level. I have spent two years tutoring a psychology student in college. Throughout my life, I have also been my little sister's Spanish tutor. I am a lover of music. I play many instruments, including the drums and piano. I have chosen to spend my life tutoring because I see it as a great way to learn about the many people who walk this earth.
